Graco Car Seats Recalled Due to Risk of Fatal Injuries
The manufacturer, Graco, issued the recall after it was learned that the harness buckles on their car seats become progressively more difficult to unbuckle over time and can even become stuck. The units recalled were manufactured between 2009 and 2013, range in price from $99 to $399, and comprise 3,700,000. The company is offering replacement car seats for consumers.
We all expect our products to work, and that expectation goes double for products that are meant to protect children—especially in an automobile, in which children are particularly vulnerable. Graco is right to recall its product, as it poses a substantial risk to parents who may need to remove their children from a car very quickly in the event of an emergency.
As a personal injury lawyer who handles defective and dangerous product lawsuits, I know firsthand how critical it is to ensure that our products our safe to use, and our children are protected at all times.
