Woman Fatally Mauled by Three Dogs in Portsmouth, Virginia

In a horrifying turn of events, a woman lost her life in Portsmouth, Virginia, after being viciously attacked by three dogs during the night. The Portsmouth Police Department reported that officers rushed to a residence on Atlanta Avenue between Lincoln and Randolph Streets shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered the woman suffering from severe injuries inflicted by the dogs. Despite immediate medical attention, she tragically succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital.

The dogs responsible for the attack have been identified as pit bulls and are currently in police custody. According to accounts from a neighbor residing across the street from the scene, the victim was visiting the home at the time of the incident. Furthermore, it was revealed that the dogs belonged to a resident of the house where the attack occurred.

While Portsmouth police have not previously received calls regarding dog attacks at this particular residence, local reports suggest that this may not have been the first instance of such aggression. Indeed, another neighbor disclosed to WAVY’s Andy Fox that there have allegedly been two prior attacks involving dogs at the same location.
