Virginia Car Accident Lawyer - Richard SerpeA car accident in Virginia Beach has left two people seriously injured. The Monday, September 4, 2017 crash occurred on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. Authorities say the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck was heading west on Shore Drive and failed to yield when turning left. A Lexus heading east struck the truck. The driver of the Lexus and their passenger were seriously injured in the collision. A passenger in the truck was also injured. No charges have been filed against either driver at this point, but since the investigation into the collision is still ongoing, there is still a chance that the at-fault driver will be held responsible.

We send our best wishes to all the victims and are rooting them on for speedy, complete recoveries.

Shore Drive Car Accidents

Through the years, Shore Drive has become notorious for dangerous crashes like this one. Because the road combines high-trafficked, commercial space with high speeds and high volume, it is ripe for accidents. Throw in the occasional pedestrian or cyclist and you have an even more unsafe place to walk, ride and drive.

Left turns are also one of the most dangerous maneuvers a driver can make. Though most drivers make them on a routine basis, many don’t realize how inherently dangerous they can be. The driver’s view is obstructed while turning and it is often hard to judge the speed of oncoming traffic. Miscalculating the gap across the intersection is also common and frequently leads to deadly crashes.
