Wrong-Way Head-On Crash on Route 58 Near Chesapeake-Suffolk
A wrong-way driver caused a head-on collision on Route 58 near the Suffolk city line in Chesapeake on Sunday morning, September 27, 2026. Two men were taken to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.
According to Chesapeake Police, a pickup truck was traveling east in the westbound lanes when it struck an SUV head-on. The SUV’s driver suffered life-threatening injuries. The pickup’s driver was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police have not said how the pickup ended up on the wrong side of the highway, and the crash is still under investigation.
