Suffolk Crash Injures Three

Virginia Car Accident Lawyer - Richard SerpeThree people were hospitalized last week following a multi-vehicle collision in Suffolk. The incident occurred at the intersection Route 460 and Kings Fork Road just before 3:00 PM. Police say a commercial box truck, a Suffolk Public Utilities truck and a Dodge Caravan collided. Three people involved in the accident suffered injuries.

The investigation into the accident is still ongoing, but it looks as though the injured victims will recover fully. There’s no word on exactly what caused the crash and the police reports did not highlight one specific at fault driver. Still, with the Suffolk Public Utilities truck being involved, the post-accident legal battle could get messy.

Deadlines for Filing a Claim

Though the Virginia statute of limitations requires victims to file suit within two years of their accident, cases involving city employees have much shorter deadlines. Victims will need a file a notification of intent to seek compensation rather soon. That’s why we encourage anyone involved in the crash to reach out to our team sooner rather than later.

Of course, deadlines aren’t the only concern with this kind of accident. Citizens who injure city employees are sometimes denied coverage by their insurance company, leaving the victim in a lurch. There are all kinds of complications associated with city employees who are involved in accidents like this one.
