One Dead, Three Injured in Fairfax Accident

There are few places more chaotic to drive then Northern Virginia. Rush hour traffic can have you jolting back and forth between crawling bumper to bumper and racing along at 70 MPH. The roads themselves are somewhat foreboding. They are often multi-lane knots with suddenly appearing exits and tolls. Roads like these require extremely careful navigation.

Sadly, the hectic Northern Virginia road system claimed another life this week. The victim was a 19 year old woman from Woodbridge, Virginia. The tragic accident occurred near Lee Chapel Road and Fairfax County Parkway according to police. The woman was traveling south down Lee Chapel Road when she appears to have lost control of the vehicle. She crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck two other vehicles in the process. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and three of her passengers were taken to the hospital. The injuries to the passengers appear to be non-life threatening.

Northern Virginia can be a particularly dangerous place for new drivers because of the high levels of traffic and the high speeds involved. The accident reported here occurred at around 6:00 PM. Right in the teeth of rush hour traffic.
