Norfolk crash kills passenger

A Friday afternoon crash in Norfolk claimed the life of a woman passenger. The wreck occurred on I-264 near the Military Highway exit. Police say the woman and a male driver were traveling eastbound in a Dodge Caliber when a BMW came up behind them.  Both vehicles attempted to change into the right lane when the Dodge swerved to avoid hitting the BMW.

The Dodge spun out, striking the jersey wall on the right side of the interstate. The female passenger died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are now on the lookout for the white BMW, which did not stick around after the Dodge crashed into the wall. Though the two vehicles never touched, authorities understandably have some questions for the other driver involved in the incident.
