Fatal Botetourt County, VA Car Accident

Pictures of an accident that took place in Botetourt County are horrific. One of the vehicles in the accident has been completely twisted, with the front end appearing to have been bent towards the driver side of the vehicle. The windshield is cracked and car parts are strewn around on the street. Emergency vehicles are everywhere, including ambulances and firefighters. These kinds of accidents are all too common, and we should all be thankful every day we are not involved in an accident of this scale.

Newspapers report that two people died and one person was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital as a result of the accident. According to the Virginia State Police, a Mustang was traveling North on Route 220, and crossed the center line. From there, the Mustang crashed into a Mazda that was traveling in the opposite direction. The accident occurred on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 at 12:45 p.m. just north of Route 43 in Eagle Rock. The injuries in the accident were sustained despite the fact that all three people were wearing their seat belts. The crash is still being investigated, but charges are apparently still pending.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. The photo that came from the Botetourt County accident is a reminder that we all need to be cautious when driving. Our lives, and the lives of others, are at stake.
