EMS Vehicle Crash Kills One in Virginia Beach
Police are searching for witnesses who might have seen what caused a fatal Virginia Beach car accident. The wreck occurred last week near the intersection of North Mall Drive and Lynnhaven Parkway. A Dodge Intrepid attempted to turn left, heading northbound on Lynnhaven but was struck by an EMS vehicle as it turned. Tragically, the passenger in the Dodge was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Dodge was also hurt in the crash. The driver and passengers in the EMS SUV were unharmed.
It isn’t clear which car had the right of way at the time of the crash, but the EMS driver – a veteran of 31 years on the job – has been taken off the road and put on administrative duty. Investigators need eye witness reports to fully understand what happened to cause the crash. If you have any information, call 757-385-4606.
